About the N-Strike Elite: Mega Magnus Blaster

The Nerf N-Strike Elite: Mega Magnus Blaster is a semi-automatic Nerf pistol that fires Nerf Mega Darts. It uses a 3-round internal magazine, and the Mega Darts load in from the top of the barrel. In a hurry, you can also load a Mega Dart into the front of the barrel for a quick shot!

The Mega Magnus Blaster has one Tactical Rail for attachments below the barrel, which could be used for a flashlight or other device.

This Nerf Blaster comes with 3 Mega Darts which have screaming whistler tips. You definitely want to pick up more Mega Darts if you order this gun, as just 3 isn’t going to cut it for long.

The internal 3-Mega Dart magazine works great, and rarely if ever jams. You can’t attach some other extended magazine onto this Blaster, however.

The Mega Magnus has an 85 foot range, which is awesome for a non-motorized Blaster. The body of the blaster is somewhat bulky, but still light enough to sling on your side.

Who is this Nerf Gun Good For?

The N-Strike Elite: Mega Magnus Blaster is a good secondary weapon to have in your arsenal when your main Nerf gun runs out of ammo. With the limited ammo capacity and somewhat lengthy reload time, this isn’t a great Blaster for extended skirmishes. If your Nerf play style is more about taking one shot then moving around for cover, you may find it suits  your needs.

Similarly priced, the Strongarm Blaster is a comparable Nerf pistol that has a higher capacity (6 darts), and uses Elite Darts instead of Mega Darts. It doesn’t have quite the same range, though.

What People are Saying About the N-Strike Elite: Mega Magnus Blaster

Here’s how Nerf buffs view the Mega Magnus –

“The Magnus Blaster is not the best weapon of choice when going into a Nerf battle. The magazine only holds three darts, and the gun has to be manually cocked after each shot, so it has limited firepower. But it is a pretty good backup Nerf gun. It’s relatively small and lightweight, it’s inexpensive, and in my testing, it was pretty reliable. It has a high muzzle velocity, so the darts have a fairly flat trajectory at short ranges, which gives it good accuracy for indoor battles

“Overall impression: This is a fun gun for children to shoot at objects or each other! Need extra darts.”

“I’m one of those adults who love foam blasters. I took this guy and his big brother out with my 100 foot tape and fired both off. Can you believe that the angled shots from this blaster topped out at over 100 feet?”

Overall, the Nerf N-Strike Elite: Mega Magnus Blaster is a decent Nerf Mega Pistol. The main thing holding it back is the limited ammo capacity of 3 darts, which can’t be extended. It is a lot of fun for target practice, or as a backup Nerf gun.
